KENINGAU: Murut Nabai is one of the many ethnic groups found in the district who also have the ability to progress in terms of culture, art, economy, education and agriculture, among others.
Assistant District Officer, Inchek Anam, said with the establishment of the Murut Nabai Sabah Ethnic Organisation (Nabaai), it can help them develop their potentials.

He believes this ethnic group can create a name in the international scene through their unique and beautiful art and culture.
“They have beautiful and colourful ‘linangkit’ that is embroidered on their traditional clothing,” he said while officiating the Nabaai annual general meeting here.

Inchek said the uniqueness of such art needs to be protected and preserved for the future generations.
He said their mother tongue needs to be handed over to the next generation so it doesn’t go extinct.
