Mengkabong township plan

Tuaran: The development of Mengkabong township is expected to start this year.

Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya said this is among the various developments that have been planned for the Pantai Dalit constituency.

“The development has already received approval and there is just a minor documentation process that needs to be completed before it is expected to be launched this year.

“In addition, specifically for residents who do not have land to build a house, the Chief Minister approved around 180 acres to be distributed to them in the Pantai Dalit constituency,” he said when met after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house programme at the Rumpun Cultural Centre Bajausama Sabah in Kampung Lok Batik, here, recently.

According to Jasnih, the land will enable the recipients to benefit from government assistance such as Rumah Mesra Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ).

Commenting on the Aidilfitri open house, Jasnih who is also Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman, said the event was held for the first time since Covid-19 pandemic hit.

“I am also honoured by the presence of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the celebration,” he said.

Some 5,000 visitors attended the celebration. Yayasan Sabah Director Datuk Seri Ghulamhaidar Khan Bahadar was also present.
