TAWAU: Sabah has received the highest development allocation among all states in Malaysia, channeled through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) for three consecutive years.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the state has received over RM1 billion annually in development funds under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12).
Zahid, who is also the Minister of KKDW, said that this year the government has allocated RM6.15 billion for Sabah’s development through various agencies under his ministry.
He explained that the increased allocation reflects the government's commitment and concern for helping the Sabah state government and its people benefit from national development, acknowledging the need for more infrastructure and public facilities to ensure the well-being of its citizens.
"This commitment will continue as long as there is cooperation and a good relationship between the State and Federal Governments," he said during the Sentuhan Kasih Desa @ Tawau program at the Tawau Sports Complex on Sunday.
