Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is fully prepared for the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election, said Chief Minister cum GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said a series of courses had already been conducted in each constituency and state assembly area to strengthen the coalition’s election machinery.
Hajiji affirmed GRS’s readiness after officiating the District Police Headquarters Qurban Programme on Saturday, though he noted that seat allocations had yet to be discussed.
At the event, he and several state leaders symbolically handed over sacrificial cattle to district police chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin.
Those present included Rural Development Minister cum Tamparuli assemblyman Datuk Jahid Jahim, Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister cum Kiulu assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, and Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya.
On Hari Raya Aidiladha, Hajiji expressed hope that the celebration would inspire unity and a spirit of sacrifice among Malaysians, especially Muslims, for the common good.
He reminded that the spirit of sacrifice goes beyond livestock, calling on the people to embrace compromise, cooperation, and solidarity for the State’s multi-ethnic future.
