KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR expressed full support for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) continued action in combating graft, following news that two individuals will soon be charged over alleged corruption involving mineral mining licences in the State.
Sabah PKR said the issue had long been a public concern, especially as it involved the fair management of high-value natural resources for the benefit of all.
The party reiterated that corruption must be tackled regardless of rank or political ties, as it undermines public trust in the governance of state resources.
It also emphasised that transparency, integrity, and accountability must remain the foundation of all decisions involving Sabah’s wealth.
Sabah PKR urged the MACC to also examine reports of alleged abuse in the management of the state’s increasingly critical water resources.
