Kota Kinabalu: School authorities at SK Sembulan here rushed 70 of their pupils to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital emergency ward after some of them showed symptoms of the influenza A (H1N1), Monday.

A teacher said some of the pupils looked sick and seemed to have fever.

Health personnel were surprised by the unannounced arrival of the pupils but screened each of them. It was later found no one was suspected of having the virus but five were found to have asthma.

Meanwhile, a hospital staff advised those needing H1N1 screening to go to the Luyang Clinic where a counter has been set up.

"This is because the emergency ward is only for emergency patients with conditions that need urgent medical attention," the staff said.
