Honour Batu Sumpah pledge first

STAR President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan deserves praise for reminding the Barisan Nasional government that the general election is around the corner and yet a promise made two years ago to the people of Sabah by Tourism Minister Nazri and National Unity Minister Kurup had yet to be honoured.
That promise was to restore the Batu Sumpah with the original key wordings “Kerajaan Malaysia Janji” (Malaysian Government Guarantees).
All other promises that it would restore Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement cannot be believed if it even cannot even deliver a promise pertaining to a simple stone.
Something tells me that even the sudden promise that work on the stone’s restoration would begin in April may be another empty promise.
The KDM leaders, especially, now in State and Federal must bear collective guilt as having failed the people if the Oath Stone is not up next month.
