DAILY EXPRESS (September 26, 1963) - JESSELTON, Sept. 25. – Three Filipino Journalists who arrived here today as guests of the Malaysian Government expressed their confidence that the Philippines Government would soon reverse its decision and recognise Malaysia.

“It is only a question of time,” said Mr. Dani Aguila, political cartoonist and writer of the Examiner.

The other two journalists are Mr Luis Beltram, Senate Reporter and Columnist of the Evening News and Mr Alberto Al-faro, Foreign News deskman and representative of the Manila Chronicle.

The party had been in the Federation since Sept 14 as guests of the then Federation Government to witness the proclamation of Malaysia. As such, they could not evaluate the authenticity of the strong speculation that the Philippines Government would soon recognise Malaysia.

“We have been away too long to know exactly what is happening at home,” they said.

“But one thing we can say for sure and that is, not many people in the Philippines are against Malaysia.

The three newspapers we represent have always been for Malaysia.”

Mr Aguila said that they wished to meet some of the Filipinos in Sabah. The party observed today’s Legislative meeting for a shortwhile.

The three journalists will pay a courtesy call on the Yang di-Pertua Negara and also the Chief Minister, Mr Donald Stephens tomorrow.
