Lansdowne opens plenary session of the IGC

NORTH BORNEO NEWS & SABAH TIMES - (Tuesday, October 23, 1962) - JESSELTON, Monday.- The first plenary session of the Malaysia inter-Governmental Committee opened at 2.30 this afternoon in the Council Chamber, Jesselton, under the Chairmanship of Lord Lansdowne, Minister of State for Colonial Affairs, with Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato Hussien, Deputy Chairman.
Members of the United Kingdom delegation were: Lord Lansdowne, Sir John Martin, Mr H.P. Hall, and Mr T. J. O’Brien.
The Malayan delegation consisted of: - Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato Hussien, Dato Sir James Thomson, Dato Abdul Aziz bin Yusoff; Mr C.M. Sheridan, Dato Nik Mat, Mr R. J. C. Wait, Inche Abdul Aziz bin Yeop; Inche Andul Kadir bin Shamsuddin, Mr G. W. Gould.
In the Sarawak delegation were: Mr F. D. Jakeway, Mr P. E. H. Pike, Mr B. A. St J. Hepburn, dato Bandar, Temonggong Jugah, Pengarah Montegrai; Mr Ling Beng Siew; Mr Chia Chin Shin and Mr G. A. T. Shaw.

Members of the North Borneo delegation were: Mr R. N. Turner, Mr Donald Stephens; Mr W. K. H Jones; Mr H. W. Davidson, Datu Mustapha bin Datu Harun, Mr Khoo Siak Chiew and Mr W. S. Holley.
Two Brunei Government officials, Dato Setia Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusuf bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahim and Tuan Haji Jamil bin P. U. K. Haji Awang Umar, who arrived in Jesselton, yesterday attended the meeting as observers.
