Against selection of Kee Hui

NORTH BORBEO NEWS & SABAH TIMES - (Monday, November 5, 1962) - KUCHING, Sat. — The Sarawak United Front today urged the Government not to send Mr. Ong Kee Hui, a member of the Supreme Council and chairman of the Sarawak United People’s Party, to Melbourne to attend the Colombo Plan Consultative Committee.
The Government announced earlier this week that Mr. Ong would represent Sarawak at the Ministerial meeting beginning next week.
The United Front composed of five pro-Malaysia political parties, warned of the “serious danger of misinterpretation” if Mr. Ong attended the meeting.
It urged the Government to withdraw Mr. Ong from the Sarawak delegation and replace him by another unofficial member of the Supreme Council.

The United Front felt that Sarawak would not be appropriately represented by Mr. Ong whose party’s declared policy was to oppose the realisation of Malaysia.
