Labour  officials from  Malaya  due for visit

NORTH BORNEO NEWS & SABAH TIMES - (Wednesday, October 17, 1962) - JESSELTON, Tues. - Three Labour officials are due to arrive at Jesselton Airport on tomorrow’s Viscount from Malaya. They are Enche Bahaman bin Samsudin, Minister of Labour, Federation of Malaya Mr S. Kumar Commissioner of Labour, Malaya, and Enche Ismail bin Ibrahim, Secretary to the Malayan Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare on a four-day visit. 

Mr J. P. Rutherford, Acting Commissioner of Labour and Welfare will show the officials round Jesselton on Wednesday afternoon, and the following morning will introduce them to representatives of employers’ and employees’ organisations with whom they will have discussions. 

On Thursday afternoon Mr Rutherford has planned to fly with tax officials to Sandakan for similar meetings to be held there on Friday morning. 

They leave Sandakan for Tawau on Friday afternoon and in the evening meeting representatives of local employers workers at a reception given at the Residency. 

The officials are due to return to Jesselton on 20th October and on the following morning (Sunday) Mr Rutherford will take them to the Tuaran Tamu and round the Wallace Training Centre for the Blind.

Enche Bahaman bin Samsudin, Mr Kumar and Enche Ismail bin Ibrahim will leave North Borneo by MAL Viscount on 21st October.
