North Borneo News And Sabah Times (Saturday, Dec 15, 1962) - LONDON, Friday - The Brunei rebel leader A.M Azhari yesterday threatened to send 100,000 Indonesian volunteers into all the three Borneo territories.
He gave a warning of a blood-bath to come in an interview with a Daily Express correspondent David English.
Azahari said his army compared with the Algerian FLN in its initial stages and there would never be an end to the fighting while the British imposed their will on the people.
Meanwhile, Royal Marine Commandos who recaptured Limbang after severe fighting on Tuesday are now moving south in attempt to link up with travelled upriver in boats and landed at the small town of Bangar about 15 miles from Limbang inside Brunei.

An army spokesman said most of the rebel elements had retreated into the jungles and the two Commando forces would undertake the task of mopping up in the next few days.
The spokesman said a “pilot” who was accompanying the Commandos would direct the hunters to their targets because it’s difficul t to specify the targets because of the small villages scattered in the area, and our hunters will strike only if the rebels put on tremendous resistance.

Meanwhile, about 100 Green Jackets are advancing on Sibuti and Niah, believed to be the last remaining rebel strongholds in northern Sarawak. ‘The Green Jackets are meeting with little resistance and it is likely that they will be able to receive the two towns by this evening,” the spokesman said.
In Brunei government announced the Sultanate capital will now be under curfew from 6pm to 6am.
