DESPITE the challenges many of us are going through as a result of the Covid-19 uncertainties, there is an abundance of opportunity all around us. It is incorrect to think or say that there are fewer openings now but instead we should envisage that there are new opportunities.

We should visualise them, grab them and hold on without fear and doubt. The success stories of great people are because they had a dream, vision, inspiration, commitment, goals and a strong desire to achieve them.

There are those who worry about leaving their comfort zone because they fear of failure of taking up new challenges.

Such personalities claimed that they are happy in their rut but they are still unsure about their lives because often they have feeling of fright and apprehension.  Individuals should remember that there are many chances out there just waiting for someone to find one and make it their own.

Why can’t that person be you?

The main cause of letdown in life of most people is due to the wrong perception they have within themselves and this thinking creates the pathway towards his or her present and future.  Individuals should recognise that everything that revolves around them is owed to their thinking and self-perception.

In short, your success or flop is based on the positive or negative ability you have in your inner process.

A recommended exercise to determine this is to take a step back and think about your life from all angles and see if you are satisfied or dissatisfied with what you have or don’t have.  The recommended time to do this activity is on your birthday, important anniversaries of your life, at the start of a fresh year or when you are facing a crisis.  One way of approaching this adjustment is perception change is to do a self-evaluation by listing down your strengths and weaknesses, achievements and setbacks.  The objective here is to determine whether you are happy or unhappy with your life, success, relationship, work, finances and the list goes on.

This re-examination will help you to pause and take another look at things and allow you either sharpen your insight or express appreciation with what you are blessed with by just saying “Thank You” to the universe.

It is vital that you live in the present and not worry about the future and regret your past although your past may have a tremendous impact on you.  Live in the present moment and don’t be disturbed by worries and negative thoughts.  Always recollect that all previous experiences (pleasant or unpleasant) are merely process to know more about life.

No one is the same. We can be different people and experience the same situation but have two different stories?

This is because every single person has a unique observation of things.  This means that all versions or experiences of events are true and if everyone was aware of that fact, there would be lot fewer issues in life.

To create a more positive reality, we should be conscious of our perception of things whether good or bad.

This is because mastering the awareness about our insights can help us change our quality of life.

Once you know your views, you have the strength to change your reality. The pathway forward towards happiness and peace of mind is not determined by something outside yourself but it is resolute by your own thinking, your own inner voice and self-opinions.  So, if your life feels blocked, it is obstructed by the way you perceive yourself, by your fears and how they cause you to act towards yourself.

Take a bold step now to change your negative perceptions to a more positive one so that you can create the same situation over and over and allow it to be a turning point of a happier life.

Tips to filter your perception
  • Create two imaginary boxes – one for good and the other for bad.
  • When you have any good observations, deposit them in your good box and negative ones in the bad box.
  • Next you should commit yourself to the filtering process daily, monthly or annually to allow you to be crystal clear in your thoughts.
  • When you start the filtering process you will find that you are able to predefine your assessment and stay focused.
  • The end result here will be that you are about to make your choices freely and turn them to reality.
