HEART is heartbroken. The whole family of Taman Nice are heartbroken.
Losing someone so sudden, so full of life and energy, is never easy.
We were so devastated by the sudden and totally unexpected loss of one of our beloved community dogs named Jolly.
Jolly, a much beloved community dog of Heart and the Taman Nice residents in Kobusak, has been laid to rest with a gravestone to mark her final resting place on Tuesday (November 24).

Jolly, a beloved community dog at Taman Nice was a seven-and-a-half-year-old abandoned dog died following a motor accident.
She was deliberately run over by a car while taking refuge under the parked car during a heavy rain.
Our chests just tightened when we thought of how she suffered. Her eyes were still wide open in shock when we held her.
Her motionless and cold body laid right in front of our eyes. We tried to remember the good times, but when we reached the spot she was killed, we wept profusely.
A life we all loved was snuffed out in a second by a heartless driver, with no thought, no respect for life and no punishment.
Yes, you didn’t know Jolly. We understand. But we have had enough. Of loss and helpless rage, while the driver’s only worry might be washing the blood off the tyres.
We had just lost one of our most favourite stray/community dogs ever when we lost Jolly. We dropped to the ground. Every horrendous emotion ripped through us: devastation, heartbreak, sadness, the impact was unbelievable.
Our darling, beautiful, Jolly was gone and we never even got to say goodbye, or feed her one more time. We cried like we didn’t know we could, and we didn’t know what to do. We couldn’t stand the fact that we didn’t have our Jolly with us anymore.
These may be street dogs to most but they have their own family, and their loss cannot be forgotten. Jolly’s sudden death left her extended family devastated in grief, sorrow and rage.
We can humanise this and argue what would happen if this was a young child or a senior citizen? Maybe we don’t need to. It is enough that she was Jolly the adored community pet and she was ours.
We’re distraught, she was such a fantastic dog, very affectionate. She loved her community family. It’s so sad that someone could do that.
The driver knew he had run her over, the wheel went over her body, and he drove off leaving her succumbed to her injuries. We couldn’t believe someone would actually intentionally run over her. She was like our baby.
Jolly brought so much happiness to the community. That’s how she was, just happy. She was a lovely doggie. We had been feeding Jolly religiously for the past six years, so there really wasn’t a time that Jolly wasn’t a part of our lives. She was in peak physical shape when she passed.
Jolly wasn’t just our stray dog; she was our friend, our partner, and our stalwart protector.
Jolly sudden death gives Heart no time to prepare for the loss of our beloved stray/community pet, no time to say good-bye, have that last special meal or play.

In addition to the pain of our stray/community pet’s sudden death, we also have to deal with the shock of the untimeliness. It can certainly contribute to the intensity of the grief process.
It’s no wonder her death left a giant black lab-sized hole in our hearts. Anyone who has ever lost a longtime pet knows this feeling, and many also understand completely that the loss of a pet can be as hard as the loss of a close friend or family member.
When our beloved Jolly died, the grief and the pain is difficult to handle. What’s more she died suddenly, and the pain can be extra intense and almost unbearable, because we were unprepared and didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to her.
When you tell people this, many of them tend to think you’re just plain nuts. After all, Jolly was just a stray dog living on the street of Taman Nice in Kobusak. Well, quite easily as it happens, because the animal in question was a loved one too.
Jolly was known for its loving nature, loving disposition, and friendly attitude toward everyone, even strangers. She had friendly temperament and was a joy to be with. Jolly was beautiful, strong, sweet-natured, intelligent, powerful, loveable, friendly, extremely charismatic, amusing, loyal, courageous, cooperative if you know how to communicate with her.
Jolly loved all the attention she got from the entire staff and its customers at the Ping Ping coffee shop and the Taman Nice residents. She was loved by all.
Our baby Jolly, who had the whole neighbourhood to play in and all of us to love, could have lived out her days in relative happiness rather than lie in the middle of the road bleeding to death; leaving us with a hole inside all our hearts and a needless eulogy.
Having to realize the fact that we will never see her again is so hard. We have this kind of subconscious thought that we’ll see her again, somehow, and its really hard to shake.
We have to remind ourselves she’s gone, as hard as it is. Losing Jolly a beloved community pet was emotionally devastating. She was a part of our Heart’s family and it was never easy saying goodbye that last time.
We can’t imagine feeding the street dogs without Jolly. Yes we had other street dogs to fawn over and adore and feed, but the street wasn’t the same.
Realising she is gone there isn’t an hour of any day that we don’t think of her or long to see and feed her, but yes, life must carry on and we too must go on living and continue to care, love and feed other strays.
We were heartbroken, and as the realisation began to sink in all we wanted to do was to give her a decent burial. Our heartfelt thanks to Chelsea, Leo and Parissa for helping us through the burial process. We were so glad to have you there with us.
We will need time to grieve. We loved Jolly as if she was our own baby. We looked after her so so much. We were inseparable, six years of blissful friendship. We miss her already. Everyone is missing her and not seeing her in her usual spot is heartbreaking.
Our Jolly of six years and we didn’t know November 24, 2021 was the final goodbye … All we have is her memories now. So long beautiful Jolly. You will be missed beyond words.
At present we have more than 150 homeless/stray dogs and cats whom we feed on a daily basis. We are facing lots of difficulties for helping them, we are lack of financial resources, their food, medical bills and other expenses.
