Universiti Malaysia Sabah offers Oil and Gas related Diploma programme

The programme allows graduates to pursue a career as oil and gas operator; oil and gas contractor; process technician; process supervisor; engineer assistant; general technician; plant and machine operator; health and safety officer, including in government sectors.
According to the faculty’s website, the Diploma in Process Engineering (Oil and Gas Operations) is a three-year programme, which mainly covers the midstream activities in the oil and gas industry.
The programme allows graduates to pursue a career as oil and gas operator; oil and gas contractor; process technician; process supervisor; engineer assistant; general technician; plant and machine operator; health and safety officer, including in government sectors.
Candidates must fulfil the university general admissions requirements, namely obtained a minimum of three credits (Grade C/6C) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) for the following subjects - chemistry, biology/engineering drawing, mathematics/additional mathematics; and at least pass (Grade E/8E) the English subject; and do not have physical disabilities that complicate practical works and hands-on activities.
Graduates of the programme will establish themselves as practising sub-professional/competency in their respective fields and will contribute to sustainable development through innovative home-grown technologies to serve the needs of the society and the nation as a whole.
At the end of the programmes, graduates should be able to identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems and make substantiated conclusions using codified methods of analysis specific to oil and gas engineering-related operations.
Graduates are also expected to be able to apply the knowledge of applied mathematics, applied science, engineering fundamentals and oil and gas engineering operational principles to the solution of well-defined engineering problems.
