PENAMPANG: The Penampang Community College’s Student Affairs Units launched a Kavakasan Kiosk to help students deal with problems related to mental health, here, Wednesday.

“Kavakasan means strength in the Kadazan language and is synonymous with the objectives of establishing the kiosk, which is to become a knowledge centre that provides information related to mental health to students,” said Penampang Community College Director Dr Melvin Mojikon.

The Kavakasan kiosk with its slogan “Your Story Matters” is a joint effort between the Penampang Community College and the Youth-Prep Centre.

A tablet containing an innovative application software was donated by the Youth-Prep Centre to allow students to access information related to mental health awareness.

The joint venture is hoped to help reduce the tendency of students towards experiencing stress or depression in their daily lives.
