Kota Kinabalu: The state government has allocated more than RM6 million to the Technical and Trade Training Institute (ILTP) for 2023.

Minister of Special Task and Coordination Datuk Dr Mohd Ariffin Mohd Ariff said a further RM6,150,010 was allocated to implement 15 TVET training programmes in line with the direction of the Sabah Development Plan Maju Jaya 1.0 (2021-2025).

“Through the core of Human Capital and People’s Well-being, the State Government supports the Human Resource Development Department’s efforts to produce skilled, competent and competitive human capital to enter the job market.

“Several departments and agencies have accepted 10 ILTP trainees from the Information Systems Administration Programme, Malaysian Skills Diploma Level 4 to carry out practical training in their respective agencies.

“Practical training is a training method that is still relevant as one of the early exposures to the world of work so that graduates are more prepared to accept the various challenges in the career world,” he said when officiating the Convocation Ceremony of the Human Resource Development Department (JPSM) Series 2/2022 on Thursday.

The agencies involved in accepting JPSM practical trainees are the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Local Government and Housing, Kota Marudu District Office, Kota Marudu District Education Office, Socso Keningau and Tawau Branch Office, Sanya Berhad Multipurpose Cooperative, Richland Sdn Bhd, Sawit Kinabalu Sdn Bhd and Simply Chocolate Sdn Bhd.

At the ceremony held at the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC), 60 graduates received Certificates of Completion of Trainee Training for the 6G Welding Technology Programme, Beauty and Hairdressing Programme Session 2/2022 in addition to the Information System Administration Programme Session 2021-2022.

He also congratulated the Sabah Human Resource Development Department for ILTP Papar which received the certificate of appointment as a TVET Collaboration Hub (TCH) and made it the only TVET training centre in Sabah recognised as a Welding and Metal Fabrication Hub.

ILTP Papar is expected to be a reference centre, create more job opportunities, improve the economy of Sabah by producing skilled and competitive human capital and strive to expand cooperation with other TVET training centres.
