RANAU: Skills in producing routine food such as making Liniking and Tausi Fish can generate side income for families, especially housewives, said Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir.

Taking a cue from that, a course on “How to make Tausi and Liniking Fish” was held here recently attended by some 42 participants from several villages.

The course or demo held in Mini Dewan Kg Randagong Baru was attended by participants from various villages in Paginatan and several others in Ranau.

Abidin who was represented by his Special Officer and Star Secretary of Paginatan Division, Juis Konsuling, said the knowledge gained through this course must be used for the benefits of the participants.

“This initiative is aimed at giving skills to residents who are interested in adding experience and knowledge in cooking such as making Tausi and Liniking Fish, which is still rarely practised by traders.

“We hope that the participants will take advantage of the knowledge they acquired to add to their menu collection in their business to meet customer demand,” he said.

He congratulated all participants who took part in the course and thanked the organisers for their initiative in bringing the knowledge, skills and experience to the area.

Also present were Secretary of Sabah Women’s Community cum Organising Chairperson Kerry Chee, Paginatan Wiranita Chief Winnek Yuni, Pagination Community Development Officer Sainin @ Onit Bin Hamid and others.
