Kota Kinabalu: Following an overwhelmingly positive response, Yayasan Sabah Group (YSG) is extending the 30 per cent Madani Rebate Programme for its education borrowers.
Its Director, Datuk Seri Ghulamhaidar Khan Bahadar said since the programme’s introduction on April 1, 2025, a total of RM232,817 in rebates have been enjoyed by 96 borrowers who fully settled their loans as of June 20, this year.
“Yayasan Sabah Group has also successfully collected RM651,680 in lump sum repayments from borrowers who took up this rebate offer.
“This rebate is a manifestation of Yayasan Sabah Group Management’s concern for the target group to ease their repayment commitment, in line with our role in complementing the government’s efforts advancing education development,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said repayments will contribute to the sustainability of YSG’s revolving education sponsorship fund, especially as the number of future sponsorships is expected to increase significantly.
“In conjunction with the current intake season for higher education institutions and in line with the rising demand for sponsorship, previous beneficiaries are reminded not to neglect their responsibility to settle their education loans.
“This is to allow new students the opportunity to pursue their studies,” he said.
To attract more YSG education loan borrowers to take up the 30 per cent rebate offer through lump sum settlement, YSG is offering exciting prizes through a lucky draw, including a three-day two-night stay package at the renowned Borneo Rainforest Lodge in the Danum Valley Conservation Area in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
