PUCHONG: A woman, who claimed to have been robbed by an Uber driver and his accomplice last Sunday, has suffered a miscarriage a week after the incident. The victim, Wong Mei Yan, who was six-week pregnant, told a press conference that the miscarriage was due to emotional instability as one of the suspects is still at large.

The 26-year-old sales assistant said she would take legal action against the e-hailing services company for emotional distress and loss as a result of the incident.

Wong claimed that the share-ride firm had failed to give immediate cooperation to the police after the May 21 incident.

"I went for check-up twice after the incident – on Monday and yesterday – and the result was okay," Wong said.

When it comes to skincare, the first thought on our minds would be beauty products such as serums, creams, and masks. However, beauty experts and even researchers have stated that drinking more water can be just as crucial for your skin's health.
She added however, she soon felt unwell after her check-up and that her family had sent her to the Serdang Hospital after she started bleeding heavily at around 3am today.

"Upon inspection, the doctor confirmed that I have lost my baby," she said.

She said she has been contacting the Uber hotline to get an explanation from the company but to no avail.

"Only three days after the incident, someone claiming that he was from the company, called me.

The same staff called me few days after.

"During the second call, he threatened and asked me 'What (did) I want?'," she claimed.

Wong had booked a ride home at 9.30pm last Sunday and she noticed another passenger in the front seat as she got into the vehicle.

She claimed that she did not speak to the driver until he started going in the wrong direction despite her giving directions.

As the car approached Puchong, the other passenger brandished a knife and demanded the woman hand over her valuables, before she was left at the roadside near an apartment.

Police have arrested the 22-year-old driver at the Pagoh north-bound rest and service area at 11pm on Wednesday and that they are still looking for his accomplice.
