Semporna: A Chinese tourist was found dead believed from drowning at a tourism centre in Pulau Mabul, Friday. District Police Chief Supt Peter Umbuas said Shen Dong, 26, was found in a diving facility at the centre by a security officer at 11.50am. Peter said the body was brought to surface and CPR was carried out.

"The victim was rushed to Semporna Hospital for further treatment but was announced dead by medical officers," he said. Peter quoting the resort manager said that the victim arrived at the centre at 10am along with six companions on the same day.

He said that the resort operates from 7am to 5pm and usually provides life vest for guests but the victim was found not wearing any and went for a swim.

He added that the case is classified as Sudden Death. - Lagatah Toyos
