Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) has conferred an Honorary Fellowship award on National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) Governor Chea Chanto in recognition of his leadership and contribution to transforming the nation's banking industry.In a statement Friday, AICB said the fellowship was awarded by AICB Chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim and witnessed by Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
The AICB Honorary Fellowship is a prestigious award conferred on distinguished individuals whose leadership and contributions in the financial industry are considered to be of national and international significance.

In his conferment address, Azman said the award recognises individuals whose leadership and contributions in the financial industry are considered to be of national and international significance.
"Under His Excellency's stewardship of the NBC, numerous banking reforms, which strengthened Cambodia's banking system, were introduced. Cambodia's banking system has now been modernised and integrated in the regional and international financial system," he said.
