At a media conference later, Adly said following the state government's recognition of UEC, holders of the Chinese independent school certificate will be recruited into the state's civil service.

"We (Pakatan Harapan) are fulfilling our election manifesto," he said, adding that the state government had just hired a Taiwan graduate who is also a UEC-holder as the chief executive officer of Malacca Biotechnology Corporation, a state-owned company.

This event coincides with its proposed listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities"), scheduled for 30 April 2025.
Asked if UEC-holders can apply for admission to tertiary education institutions, the chief minister said the recognition is limited to the state administration for the time being but will be extended to other areas in the state in due course.

Earlier at the school function, Adly announced the allocation of RM250,000 for Pay Fong High School, the sole Chinese independent school in the state.
