The Malaysian Islamic Organisations Consultative Council (Mapim) President Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said the people of Kashmir also deserve the same attention and concern as those in Palestine, as they have been oppressed for a very long time.
“The issue surrounding Kashmir must be raised and voiced out because they also face pressure like those in Palestine.. the death toll and suffering experienced by the Kashmir people is also worse.
“Although we have trade and diplomatic relations with India, we cannot remain silent on issues of tyranny, murder, encroachment and confiscation...we need to voice out against the parties involved in committing ‘genocide’ in Kashmir,” he told Bernama when met at the ‘2019 Genocide Memorial Day’ ceremony at the Selangor Islamic University College. – Bernama
