Kota Kinabalu: Several international yachts have set sail on an adventure journey to various tourism destinations around Sabah as part of a tourism initiative – the “Sail Malaysia, Passage to the East” 2020 Yacht Rally, flagged-off on Thursday.

Organised by the Cruise Marine Tourism Association and supported by Tourism Malaysia and Sabah Tourism Board, the 13th edition of the annual event is the first yacht rally among hundreds in the world to start amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sail Malaysia Managing Director Sazli Kamal Basha said it is hoped that the rally would bolster confidence among locals to start travelling domestically again.
