Other M’sians visiting Sabah down by half
West Malaysians love the cool Mount Kinabalu-Kundasang ambience without being a casino resort town like Genting.
Kota Kinabalu: Visitors from the peninsula and Sarawak have dropped by more than half compared to the pre-Covid-19 pandemic, MCO lockdown and recovery figures.

For example, in March this year, Malaysian arrivals were recorded at 115,170 compared to 234,629 in March 2019. This shows a drop of 119,455 or 50.91 per cent.

This trend is also evident when comparing the figures of March (115,170) and February (173,575), 2020, showing a drop of 58,405 visitors or 33.65 per cent prior to the lockdown.
