Johor teen drowns after saving brother

BATU PAHAT: A 16-year-old boy who was reported missing while rescuing his younger brother who fell into a ditch at Jalan Taman Manis 6, Parit Raja here yesterday, was found drowned this morning.
In a statement, Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Department assistant fire superintendent Mohamad Shamin Salikin said the body of Muhammad Naquiddin Adnan was found at about 8.47am about 5m from where he had fallen.

Shamin said the teenager, his brother and their friends were believed to have been bathing in the ditch when the incident occurred.
His remains have been handed over to the police for further action.
