Kota Kinabalu: A 53-year-old man was fined RM5,000 or six months’ jail for careless and inconsiderate driving, which resulted in a fatal accident.

Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun meted out the sentence to Mohd Sali Ali who pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
He was found driving in such manner at 6.30am on Jan 13, 2019 along Jalan Tuaran Bypass/KM 10, here.
The offence, under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Amended 1999), carries a fine of between RM4,000 and RM10,000, and liable to a jail of up to 12 months, on conviction.
