RANAU: A local in his 30s was nabbed by police for possessing two bakakuks (homemade guns) in Kg Narambai, here, last Friday.
Ranau District Police Chief DSP Sammy Newton said the suspect was arrested by a team from the Criminal Investigation Division during “Op Laras” around 5.20pm.

He said two bakakuks were seized from the house, adding the case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Weapons Act 1960 (Act 206).

“If convicted, the man can be jailed not more than seven years or fined not exceeding RM10,000, or both,” he told reporters here, Monday.
