Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded a slight drop in the number of new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, with a total of 303 compared to 348 cases a day before. From the figure, more than half (68.9 per cent or 209 cases) are from close contact screening, 54 from symptomatic screening, 16 from existing cluster screening, five from Social Security Organisation (Socso) screening and 19 from other categories.
No new Covid-19 fatalities or clusters were recorded, said Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic), who is also Sabah’s official Covid-19 spokesperson, Tuesday.

A total of 403 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals, and 815 and 1,800 remained in hospitals and low-risk quarantine centres (PKRCs), respectively.
The number of those placed under the Intensive Care Units is 92 and 25 are on ventilator assistance.
Sabah has a total of 1,112 units of beds at Covid-19 hospitals, while PKRCs and temporary detention centres/prisons has 4,592 beds and 1,100 beds, respectively.
