Kota Kinabalu: The sprouting of makeshift cardboard homes right in the centre of the city’s business district by Palaus (sea gypsies) as never before has left many wondering whether the authorities have decided to allow it on humanitarian grounds.Motorists and city dwellers were shocked to see a big box with several people and small children seeking shelter inside and a supermarket cart filled with essential housing items inside the main roundabout near Bandaran and Kg Air at about 3.30pm on Thursday.
