Family of three killed, four others hurt in Papar accident

PAPAR: A family road trip to Kota Kinabalu turned tragic as a husband and wife and their daughter died while four other family members were injured after a transport lorry they were travelling on skidded off the road at KM42, Jalan Kimanis – Keningau, here, Wednesday night.
District Police Chief Batholomew Ak Umpit said the 10pm incident occurred when the husband lost control of the lorry that was transporting a van to Kota Kinabalu from Keningau accompanied by his wife, four daughters and a son.

“The driver who lost control of the vehicle, while travelling downhill, had entered the opposing lane before crashing into a hillside. He was pinned in the lorry while his wife and daughter were thrown out of the vehicle," he said.
