70 LD ‘Kereta Sapu’ drivers summoned

LAHAD DATU: A foreigner was arrested while three compounds and 70 summonses were issued during a Targeted Operation carried out by police here since June 2.District Police Chief ACP Rohan Shah Ahmad, in a statement, said the operation is against private individuals providing transport services without permit or commonly known as “kereta sapu” who violate the standard operating procedures during the Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0). The operation focused on three locations, namely Jalan Mawar, Jalan Kastam Lama and Jalan Pantai. He said the 70 summonses were issued against kereta sapu drivers, while three for failure to comply with the SOPs.

The foreigner was detained for violating the MCO and offences under the Immigration Act.
