Kota Kinabalu: A man was locked inside an ATM after withdrawing money as the bank’s shutters rolled down on him, apparently having forgotten that banks closed at 7pm as mandated by the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Sabah.
The man’s predicament was captured on video shared by his friend on TikTok, which garnered almost 95,000 likes as of publishing time.

In his comments, the friend, named Hafif Hiqal going by his TikTok handle, said the incident happened at 7pm, which he said was the closing time of most businesses during the MCO.
In the video, the man is seen about to exit the ATM when the shutters roll down right in front of him, who then repeatedly presses some buttons to try to stop the door from closing to no avail.
The man also tried to push a glass door open but it apparently had been locked as well.
Fortunately, the man managed to exit five minutes later after the doors automatically opened, according to Hafif.

“I think because there was CCTV inside. So everything's okay,” he said in another comment to the video.
