Kota Kinabalu: Environmental lovers are glad that only three Casuarina trees said to have deteriorated with age were targeted for removal along Tanjung Aru beach.
“We are happy that the city planners are not as hasty as before in removing trees. Many of the casuarina or Aru trees to be found there are considered heritage trees and gave the township its name and character,” said Angus, a resident there.
