25 areas in 3 states including Sabah under Emco from July 24

Kuala Lumpur: Several areas in Pahang, Kelantan and Sabah will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 24 to Aug 6.

In a statement today, deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the areas in Sabah include Kampung Pukak and the Gayang Ria Projek Perumahan Rakyat (Tuaran); and Kampung Banting, Kampung Kawang and Kampung Ulu Bole (Sipitang). 

In Pahang, the Bentong prison, and its staff quarters, will also come under a lockdown.

In addition, 14 localities in Temerloh, Pahang will go under EMCO during the same dates.

These areas are: Felda Lakum, Kampung Padang Lalang, Kampung Paya Keladan, Taman Bahagia, Taman Bahagia Indah, Taman Bahagia Makmur, Taman Bahagia Permai, Taman Bahagia Courts, Taman Perumahan Sri Kemuning, Taman Temerloh Jaya, Taman Temerloh Jaya Indah, Taman Temerloh Makmur, Taman Keladan Indah and the Sri Kemuning flats. 

In Kelantan, three areas in Machang will fall under an EMCO: Kampung Joh, Kampung Maka and Kampung Dewan Besar. 

Meanwhile, the EMCO at the three localities in Dungun, Terengganu will be extended from Saturday to Aug 6.

These are Rumah Awam Kos Rendah (RAKR) Gong Pasir, Kampung Gong Pasir and Taman Maidam, where the EMCO was originally scheduled to end tomorrow. 

Ismail also said several areas in Sabah will see their lockdowns lifted as scheduled tomorrow. 

The areas are: Phase 4B, Taman Bukit Sepanggar (Kota Kinabalu), Kampung Mangkubau Laut (Pitas), Ladang Sabah Mas Division Segama (Lahad Datu) and Felda Umas 1,3 & 4 (Kalabakan). 

In Kedah, the EMCO at the Bestgrade industrial area in Pokok Sena will also end tomorrow. 

Meanwhile, the SOP compliance task force had ordered 34 premises comprising businesses (30) and factories (four) to close yesterday for failure to comply with SOPs.

Ismail said police also arrested 525 individuals for non-compliance with SOPs yesterday, with 449 fined, 68 remanded, and eight granted bail.
