RANAU: The awareness among residents here on the importance of immunisation to curb the spread of Covid-19 is getting more encouraging.

A three-day survey at the Ranau Community Hall Vaccination Centre (PPV) found a total of 1,608 people, including walk-ins, to receive Covid-19 vaccine injections. As of Sept 5, a total of 55,901 people (73.65 per cent) of the district’s target population of 75,900 had received the first dose and 44,315 (58.39 per cent) completed two doses. District Health Department Medical Officer Dr Edwaider Koimon, who is also the PPV’s chief coordinating officer, urged Ranau and Kundasang residents aged 18 and above to go for vaccination to curb the spread of Covid-19.

“We must encourage our friends and families to come forward for vaccination so that we can achieve herd immunity as soon as possible. Protect yourself, protect All,” he said.
