KOTA BELUD: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a female senior citizen missing since Sept 11 in Kg Kalibungan Rosok, here, continued on Tuesday.

Kota Belud District Police Chief, Superintendent Sahimi Husin said it involved the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) team in collaboration with the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and villagers.

He said, based on the complainant’s report, the victim Tianun Padis (pic), 86, left their house at 8.30am last Saturday and did not return home.

“The victim was found going out to an old house located 500 meters away to feed her chickens and it was the victim’s daily routine.

“However, the victim who is believed to have lost her memory due to age factor did not return until nightfall causing her family to worry and decided to look for the victim until a police report is lodged the next day,” he said.

According to Sahimi, the SAR operation was carried out in the forest area with the assistance of the K9 unit from the Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station (BBP).

The victim was last seen wearing a blue and green striped shirt while long pants were black.
