Body of man found in floating car

SANDAKAN: The body of a 62-year-old man was found in a Perodua Bezza that was floating on the banks of Sungai Kg Batu Putih Batu 7, here, Sunday morning.It is understood that the victim was found by villagers at 5.30am.

Police and firefighters were deployed to the scene and initial investigations found no signs of damage or collision on the part of the vehicle.
The victim’s body was found in the driver’s position and from physical examination, he did not suffer any external injuries and all his valuables were intact.
The victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Division of the Duchess of Kent Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
“Based on the initial investigation by the police, no criminal elements were found on the victim’s body, and the victim’s valuables were not lost.

Deputy District Police Chief, Supt. Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek confirmed the incident when contacted and asked for the cooperation of the public who have the information in this case to contact Insp. Abdul Nasir Ab Lala at 012-8119116.
“The case is still under investigation and is classified as a sudden death report,” he said.
