PAPAR: Residents joined hands with the authorities to capture a crocodile near Kampung Nagapas, here, Monday.It is believed the three-metre long crocodile was the same one that was seen crossing the road near the village after flooding last Wednesday night, which went viral on social media.ADVERTISEMENT
District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit confirmed the capture of the crocodile.
He said a motorist spotted the reptile by the roadside at 7pm before notifying the authorities.
Meanwhile, Civil Defence Force spokesperson Lieutenant Abdul Razaq @ Bensuad Basir said a team comprising seven people rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 7.38pm.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

He said the 16 feet (4.8m) long crocodile, weighing about 700kg, was successfully captured by personnel with the help of the villagers.ADVERTISEMENT
“The crocodile was then handed over to the Wildlife Department’s Wildlife Rescue Unit for further action,” he added.
