Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will relax its interdistrict travel ban by returning to its previous zoning system after it reaches 60-percent-full adult vaccination, said the State’s Covid-19 crisis spokesman, Datuk Masidi Manjun.
In the zoning system, Sabah will be divided into six zones, said Masidi, who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, in his winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.

He said the move was discussed with the State Health Director who agreed to proceed with the travel liberalisation in a controlled manner and in phases.
“This is the first step, so if a certain district has not reached the 60 percent target, then its population cannot travel (outside their district),” he said.
According to Masidi, the government plans to lift the cross-district travel restrictions after the state reaches 70-percent adult vaccination.
