13 new Covid-19 VOC cases in Sabah
KOTA KINABALU: The Health Ministry has detected 13 new Covid-19 Variant of Concern (VOC) cases in Sabah between Oct 7 and 19.

All of the cases were from the Delta variants, according to the data shared by Health Director-General Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah on a Facebook post, Tuesday.

This brings the State’s VOC case tally to 100 – 86 Delta, 11 Beta, and three Alpha.

Noor Hisham said the country’s cumulative cases infected by Covid-19's VOC and Variant of Interest (VOI) categories now stood at 2,386.

“Of the number, 2,366 are VOC cases while 20 are VOI cases. In total, to date, for VOC, there are 2,128 Delta variant cases, 224 Beta, and 14 Alpha.

“Meanwhile, for VOI, there are 13 Theta cases, four Kappa, and three Eta,” he said.
