PETALING JAYA: Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin has reminded everyone, including ministers, to always wear their masks when meeting other people in public places.
In a post on his Instagram account, he said he had noticed that “more and more of my colleagues are being seen in photos at meetings without their masks on”.
ADVERTISEMENT He added that many politicians had diabetes, hypertension and “are probably obese”.
“If you get Covid-19, even with the vaccine, it’s not going to be fun and games,” Khairy warned them.
He said Covid-19 cases in the UK had increased because of “their obstinate refusal to mask up”.

“Don’t be (like) the UK. Just mask up,” Khairy said. It was reported that Covid-19 cases in the UK hit 52,009 cases on Thursday.
ADVERTISEMENT Hospitalisation and deaths in the country have also gone up during the summer months following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in July. Yesterday, Malaysia reported 6,630 Covid-19 cases and 78 deaths.
