Hino 300 Series Pro part of KTC’s fleet expansion

Kota Kinabalu: Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (HMSM) recently handed over the first batch, 24 units out of 200 in total to its new valuable customer, Kim Teck Cheong Shipping Sdn Bhd (KTC Shipping).It was a deal sealed with trust and confidence between HMSM and KTC Shipping as the new model of HINO 300 Series Pro to become part of KTC’s fleet expansion plan.

KTC Shipping is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC), the sole operator of Gardenia Bakeries (East Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and specialised in supplying and distributing Consumer Package Goods (CPG) in East Malaysia. Present was Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Deputy Chief Minister, Industrial Development. The handing over of the trucks by HMSM Managing Director, Atsushi Uchiyama to the KTC Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau, embarks their long-term partnership in the logistics and transportation plan. Seeing the current situation and recovery of the economy after the emerged of Covid-19 for almost two years, Atsushi Uchiyama said, “Living in the post-pandemic situation that we may consider as endemic now, has taught us many things, and we need to adapt to the changes. We still do not know when the pandemic will be over, but uncertainty does not have to mean paralysis. HMSM remains to work closely to support our customer’s businesses, and apply new strategies to making strategic decisions for the future.

“We thank KTC for the trust that they have placed in us and are honoured to be a part of their growth journey with Hino trucks. Together, we look forward to setting new standards of excellence for the industry and support KTC operation in the most efficient and reliable way. It is also our commitment to sustain a close customer relationship, by listening and understanding the changing need of our customers and respond to them quickly.” KTC has set its sights on penetrating the vast Indonesian market with the Gardenia brand. Due to business expansion, the Company has decided to get its own fleet to support the increasing transport and shipping into its subsidiary company, KTC Shipping.

“Hino brand has come to our transportation line as we believe that Hino has set its standard on supporting customer needs. As proven, Hino has shown the customer-centric approach and fully understand our business needs. Besides providing the best-fit product to our industry, Hino is also giving top priority on its total support after-sales service,” Dexter said.

“The excellence of logistics and distribution is our main priority as we are running a core business that focuses on providing market access, and this field requires the punctuality and smooth running of delivery. To achieve the level of excellence, I would say, transportation line is our backbone, and we are very sure that Hino truck will be able to deliver to our expectation,” he added.

An ultimate combination of Japanese engineering and built, the 6-wheeler light-duty commercial vehicle; model XZC710R, is fitted with Euro-3 turbo-diesel engine and produces 156 PS and 429 Nm torque, make it the highest horsepower in its segment. The new model was recently launched in last year’s October and starts to lead a high demand not only from the regional customer in West Malaysia but in East Malaysia as well. Connecting to technology, the new model is installed with smart telematics system called HINO Connect to support customers’ operation and fleet managers to taking care of their trucks. Users can also access truck information through myHINO mobile application as it is linked to the telematics system. Besides its main function of protecting the truck and driver, HINO Connect is aimed to provide the best support to customer in valuing their business profit. This year marked a new milestone for KTC as they entered into a fruitful partnership with HMSM to bring the business to greater heights.
