Nur Sajat says she will appear in popular US talk show by Ellen DeGeneres in January

Kota Kinabalu: Malaysian transgender woman Nur Sajat, who has settled in Australia as a refugee after facing blasphemy charges back home, said she will be appear in a popular US talk show in January.
Speaking in a clip on her TikTok account @sajat.issa, Sajat said she will fly to the US for The Ellen Show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and also to Singapore.
ADVERTISEMENT “In February, I will be flying to Singapore... My schedule is packed,” the 36-year-old said in Malay in the clip.
“Once I have mastered English, I will be flying and flying and flying... (travelling to places) for work opportunities.
“In January, I will be going to the US for The Ellen Show.”
She said she has no plans to return to Malaysia and that she feels “safe, happy and free” in Australia.
ADVERTISEMENT Sajat was detained in Bangkok on Sept 8 for having an expired passport but also obtained a refugee card from the UN refugee agency before flying to Australia to resettle.
Malaysian police recently said they wanted to extradite Sajat for the charges levelled against her for dressing as a woman during a religious ceremony in 2018.
