Kota Kinabalu: Sabah is ready to be a main comprehensive generation hub for hydrogen and renewable energy in Southeast Asia by 2025, through upstream and downstream business activity and logistics management as well as sale of generated energy.

The State Government, through its wholly-owned company, Smart Sabah Corporation Sdn Bhd, had identified a few main projects including the development of large scale solar for the generation system of hydrogen gas; development of 3,500MW green independent power plant and development of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) system and others which will identified soon.
