KENINGAU: State Fisheries Department Director, Godfrey Kissey said there were 563 Tagal in Sabah at present and the department was targeting the tagal system to be introduced in the East Coast next year.

He said the tagal system has been practiced for generations in conservation programs through community involvement with the aim of protecting, preserving and managing fishery resources throughout the state.
