KENINGAU: Efforts to address erosion along Pegalan River will be intensified in order to save the riverbanks, said Bingkor Assemblyman Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin.He said about 40 hectares of the riverbanks were eroded due to floods.

A discussion was held on Wednesday with leaders of three villagers to address the issue.
Among the leaders present were Kg Baginda Laut Village Head KK Julius Musat, Kg Tigot Village Management and Security Committee (JPKK) Chairman Pius Jaimie, Kg Baginda Laut JPKK Chairman Gegory Karim and JPKK Kg Baginda Laut Chairman Ulu Maurius Soo.
Robert said the discussion was more on efforts to address river erosion due to floods and save the Pegalan River dam, but the estimated cost has not been confirmed.
