Tenom: Tenom Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Division was left without a leader after its deputy, Donneysius Ansuku, and other leaders also quit the party to follow Datuk Peter Anthony who was Division Chief and quit last week.Ansuku, who is also Kampung Gumisi Laut Warisan Branch Chief, said he, together with the divisional committee members, heads of other Warisan branches and heads of the Tenom polling district centres (PDM) supported Anthony’s decision to leave Warisan.ADVERTISEMENT
“With this, we willingly and without coercion declare our official withdrawal from Warisan with immediate effect and fully support Anthony’s leadership in the new party he planned to form later,” he said.
An hour after Ansuku’s announcement, Warisan Sepanggar Division also received a slap when its Youth (Wira) Chief Jumardie Lukman (pic) announced quitting the party.
“I, the P171 Sepanggar Wira Chief and a few others comprising Warisan Division committee members and branch chiefs as well as several influential people throughout the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency, announced our resignation and withdrawal from Warisan immediately,” he said.ADVERTISEMENT
He said politics, to him, is just an ideological understanding where, if they do not understand the journey or it is not in the same direction and going in different directions, then they have the right to withdraw.
“Therefore, I support the decision of the grassroots and Peter to leave Warisan to form a new multi-racial and government-friendly party under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for the development progress of Sabah,” he added.
