Tenom: Celebrity Islamic preacher and philanthropist Ebit Lew claimed trial to 11 criminal charges including sexual harrasment at the Magistrate's Circuit Court, here, today.

The 38-year-old, whose real name is Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, was accused of, among others, sending lewd pictures and messages to a woman in Tenom through WhatsApp.

He had allegedly committed the offence between March and June 2021.

The court set April 20-23 for case management and tentatively set the trial date to June

Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan told reporters they received three police reports against Ebit from a woman in Tenom and another from the peninsula.

He said police are investigating the cases from all angles including the possibility of slander and urged the public not to speculate.
